Building Amazing Grace

The kids at Amazing Grace need a new home, and they need your support to build it!

The children and staff of Amazing Grace Children's Home

For over 15 years Amazing Grace Children’s Home has been a refuge for Sudanese orphans struggling to survive. Founded by Mama Susan Tabia, the home has been a profound blessing to all the children it has served. Recently, the owner of the land Amazing Grace was built on has required that the land be given back, essentially leaving these vulnerable children homeless once again.

Through a collaboration of local leaders, Mama Susan, and Lahash International, Amazing Grace has been able to purchase new land in Northern Uganda. The next step is to build new family-style homes on this land. Each home will have room for eight children, as well as house parents and their biological children. These homes will have everything a family needs from indoor showers and toilets, to a large living room where children can play, do schoolwork, and entertain guests.

The new land includes four acres, and, along with the family-style homes, will include garden and pasture areas to provide nutritional support and some livestock rearing. Over $40,000 has already been raised for the project–enough to complete one new house! Our goal is to build two of these homes by the end of 2012, and we need your help.
