Uganda Travel Update – The team has safely arrived in Uganda

Lahash is currently facilitating a group of travelers to Uganda to work with our Sudanese and Ugandan partners during December of 2012.

Greetings from Adjumani, Uganda! We’ve been in Uganda now for just under a week and things are going great. We are grateful to God that our luggage arrived intact, people have been healthy, travel has been safe, and we are really bonding together as a team.

Much of our time on the trip up to this point has been in the inside of a rented bus. Our 30-plus bags, 15 team members and the two drivers have slowly made progress north until we reached the small town of Adjumani.

We were warmly welcomed at the old site of the Amazing Grace Children’s home by some of the kids and staff of the home, as well as the Lahash Servant Team members.

A day after arriving in Adjumani, we got the privilege to visit the new site site of the Amazing Grace Children’s Home. Many of you have been busy this year helping us raise funds for the first building which is nearly complete. The staff and kids are super excited about this spacious new building that will be their new home!

The beds have been moved from the old site to the new site, and the rooms are really beautiful. We’ll be adding a coat of paint to the primer, a few doors and other finishing touches – and it will be ready to host these 27 kids from South Sudan and Uganda.

It’s been busy around here with a community dedication ceremony coming up next week – and the kids will be heading out for a youth adventure Bible camp over the weekend.

Thanks to everyone for the prayers and support of this trip and the project. It’s great to be partnered with you in this work.
