LEADING WITH HUMILITY: LAHASH 2024 CONFERENCE TO BE HELD IN RWANDA

“I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.” - Jesus

Lahash is an international organization that connects and impacts people worldwide! However, physical distance can be a challenge as we rely on technology to communicate with each other. 

We are thrilled to join together in June and July for the 2024 Lahash East Africa Conference!

This week-long event allows leaders from our East African partner ministries, U.S. staff, East African staff, volunteers, board members, representatives from the Stand With Students program, and other special guests to gather together to learn, share and grow. 

This year’s conference will take place from June 27th to July 3rd in Rwanda. During our time together, we will learn from one another, pray, and worship together. Attendees have the chance to share their expertise through informative sessions on topics such as child protection, project planning, teamwork, Bible study, and more. 

Our biggest hope for the conference is that each attendee feels restored, refreshed, and re-energized for their role in this ministry. Refreshment is especially crucial for local ministry leaders who pour out their hearts to care for children daily. 



Our theme for 2024 is centered on humility and servant-leadership. We'll be studying the scriptures and seeking to be leaders who are captivated by the humble leadership of Jesus Christ, and in turn can exemplify this unique style of leadership in our communities.

Reverend Martha Mganga expressed her gratitude for a refreshing experience at a previous conference: 

“When I arrived my heart was broken and I was tired. Through this conference I am renewed. God bless you Lahash for a great ministry. Thank you so much.”

For staff members and volunteers in our Portland headquarters, the conference is a reminder of the importance of our roles in the bigger picture of the ministry. Katie Nelson, who works on the Sponsorship Team, shares, 

“I love that the Lahash Conference helps foster relationships and collaboration between all the ministries we partner with. It creates space to learn, grow, and be refreshed. I always come away feeling grateful and inspired to be a part of each of these ministries.”

As we prepare for the upcoming conference, we can’t wait to see the growth that will spring from our time together. Jessica Ebersole, Administrative Assistant in the Lahash Portland office, shares her excitement: 

“I look forward with anticipation and hope for all that God has in store for us this summer in Rwanda!”
