26 Dec Invitation to a Global Day of Prayer for East Africa
“Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel… pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.” Ephesians 6:18-20
On January 9th, 2017, we are extending a warm invitation to our friends around the world to join us in a Global Day of Prayer for East Africa.
As we begin the new year we appreciate taking time to reflect back on God’s hand in our lives and in the communities across East Africa. We also desire to earnestly seek God’s help, deliverance, protection, and provision for the dear children we are serving in Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, and South Sudan. We want to lift up the nations and tribes and churches in those regions and ask God to strengthen his people, spread good news, and provide shalom (peace) across the region.
This year we are providing a handy Prayer Book that you can use in your family, with your friends, alone, or with a church group. The prayer book can be downloaded with the link below and it contains prompts and specific areas to bring to God in prayer over the course of 2017.
If you are near one of our partnerships in the towns of Shinyanga, Dodoma, Kigali, Kampala, or Mai Mahiu – please join the kids and staff there for a day of prayer.
If you live near one of our Lahash offices – in either Portland or Nairobi – please contact our teams to join us for an in-person gathering of prayer and fasting during the day.
Later in the day (7-9 PM) we will have a special Evening Prayer as well.
For those in Portland you can join us at our center located at 1315 SE 20th Ave, Portland, OR 97214).
