19 Sep Lahash Ministry Team Traveling to Kenya, Uganda, & Rwanda
Hope is spreading across East Africa! From the urban centers of Rwanda to rural villages in Kenya, local men and women are reaching out in compassion and love to the vulnerable kids in the community.
Our mission at Lahash International is to support these local leaders and help empower them to have an even greater impact. We desire for the local church to thrive, for vulnerable kids to be cared for, and for God’s good news and peace to cover the region!
This October a team of three (Dan Holcomb, Krista Harper, and Jessica Ebersole) will be joining local Lahash staff members Edwin Angote and Enrica Wright on a ministry trip across the region.
The first stop will be Nipe Tumaini Children’s Home in Kenya’s Rift Valley. The home cares for extremely vulnerable kids and provides a home atmosphere, Christian love, education, and endless healthy nutrition from the large gardens on the property. The Lahash team will meet up with the local leaders, visit the local school, pray and worship with the kids, and encourage the ministry.
The second stop will be Kampala, Uganda. The Lahash team will stop in for the university graduation of one of the young participants in the Lahash Higher Education program. This is a huge celebration after over a decade of care and ministry in his life. The team will also host a retreat for a dozen young men and women currently undergoing mentorship and higher education in the country.
The third stop will be in a suburb just north of Kigali, Rwanda. Lahash sponsors 75 kids in partnership with the local ministry Rebuilding Rwanda. The Lahash team will meet with the local leadership, do home visits of the kids and their families, worship and pray with the kids, and encourage the local ministry team as they serve some of the most vulnerable members of their community.
The team invites you to pray in the following ways:
- Pray for team unity, safety, and wisdom during the travels.
- Pray that our efforts will bring God glory and will strengthen the local church in each of the three countries.
- Pray that the right conversations will happen and that we will be able to communicate well despite language and cultural barriers at times.
