CELEBRATING OUR GRADUATES!
Each year, we celebrate students who are achieving milestones in their education by graduating! So far this year we are celebrating 31 students who are graduating from primary school and advancing to secondary education (high school) or vocational training. We are also so encouraged that we just had six students graduate from vocational training and college, and we are excited for the others who will be graduating later this year! Vocational training is an option for students with natural skills in specific trades or those students who are not able to pass the rigorous testing requirements for entrance into university in East Africa.
This year we are celebrating three students who have graduated in their various fields. Pascal is graduating to pursue a career in electrical work. He joined the program ten years ago at the age of eleven. He currently lives with his mother, two brothers and younger sister. His free time consists of playing soccer, drawing cartoons, dancing, and singing in the church choir. He hopes to build a house and use his electrical skills to help him conquer this challenge.
Christina Mataro is celebrating her graduation from her plumbing program. She lives with her mother, brother, and sister. When she is at home, she enjoys helping around the home with the laundry and cooking meals. In her free time, she enjoys studying the Bible, singing, and dancing.
Melesiano celebrates her graduation from a hair dressing program. Melesiano joined the Lahash Sponsorship program when she was just nine years old. At home she lives with her grandmother who is not in the best health, so Melesiano has to be a great leader in her home. She enjoys cooking and helping others.
We are so proud of these three amazing students and for all they have accomplished in pursuit and completion of their program. We are so thankful for our local East African ministry partners for the care and compassion that they provided to the kids as they grew up. And we’re very grateful for our amazing sponsors for standing with these youth through prayer and financial support over the years.
May God be with each of our graduates as they transition in this next season of life.
