MEET OUR AFRICAN PARTNERS

WE PARTNER WITH LOCAL MINISTRIES IN KENYA, TANZANIA, & RWANDA

Lahash participates in caring for children through advocacy, storytelling, support, and prayer. The hands-on work within the children’s daily lives is not done by us. We partner with ministries founded and run by East Africans who live sacrificially in order to provide holistic care for the kids they serve. Although the kids at each location are part of the Lahash Child Sponsorship Program, we come alongside each of our partner ministries in unique ways that fit with their specific mission.
GRACE & HEALING MINISTRY
A group of women at a local church in Dodoma, Tanzania were moved by the plight of those around them suffering with HIV/AIDS, so they met, prayed, and then founded Grace & Healing Ministry. Lahash is honored to partner with these “Mothers of Love” as they use their compassion and creativity to ensure that high-risk children attend school, access health care, receive regular home visits, and fill the halls of the church with laughter on program days.
PEACEMAKERS FOR ALBINISM & COMMUNITY
Tanzania has the highest rate of albinism in the world. Children born with albinism not only suffer the physical effects of extreme sensitivity to the sun and poor vision, but often experience social stigma, abuse, and violence as well. Living with albinism herself, Sister Martha established Peacemakers For Albinism & Community to provide needed advocacy, care, safety, and hope for children with albinism in the surrounding community and beyond.
ERM-RWANDA
Founded by a local pastor who survived the 1994 genocide, our Rwandan ministry partners have always been focused on bringing hope and healing through restored relationships. Since 1996 they have been serving orphans as Rwandan society slowly rebuilds in the wake of widespread trauma and loss. Vulnerable Rwandan children are still struggling with poverty, disease, and lack of education. ERM is a church-based ministry reaching out to change these young lives with the love, support, and good news of Jesus.
NIPE TUMAINI
Nipe Tumaini (NEE-pay  too-ma-EE-nee) means give me hope in Swahili, and that is exactly what this family-style home is doing. With a focus on sustainability and holistic care, Nipe Tumaini’s ten-acre plot of land in Kenya’s Rift Valley includes a farm with a wide variety of crops, poultry, and livestock as well as a primary school. Precious children who survived abandonment and abuse now live at Nipe Tumaini to be nurtured in body, mind, and spirit.
PATH OF HOPE
Frequent drought, extreme poverty, food shortages, and lack of access to education are common in the rural region of Shinyanga, Tanzania. Path Of Hope is a church-based ministry serving children affected by these challenges and the health issues that result. Many of the families here have never heard the gospel and or received an education. Lahash and Path Of Hope are working hard to change that, one family at a time.
