HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAHASH!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAHASH!

We are celebrating 19 years of ministry at Lahash International! We are so grateful for our vibrant global family. Thanks for your partnership with our ministry network. Thank you for your passion and care for vulnerable children, helping them find hope and receive much-needed holistic care. Lahash currently serves over 600 children and their families. We couldn't do this without you. Thank you!

As we reflect on the past 19 years and rejoice at the road ahead, we remember that the story of Lahash is a story about love.

“Ultimately, at the heart of our work is God’s love that transforms each one of us and in turn causes us to love others,” Lahash Director Dan Holcomb shared. “We see in the Bible that God has a particular deep love for those who are vulnerable and on the margins of society. It’s been a joy to share that compassion and love with these special kids across East Africa for the past nineteen years!”

At our recent East Africa conference, our staff and partners, men and women from Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Italy, and the US, spent a week together. Our time was full of joy and worship. We cried together, processed trauma, lamented evil, celebrated stories of hope, and washed each other's feet.

Our partners shared updates from each location across East Africa. And it turns out that love is the golden thread running through each ministry, love is the heartbeat of each person committed to serving their communities.

The staff and partners are men and women who live that verse that says: "The Love of Christ compels us." Our ministry partners have stepped into roles as mothers and fathers, people of peace, and safe harbors for the children who need them.

The story of Lahash is a love story.

Every day, children are told they are loved and have a future. Families are being fed; children are hearing the word of Christ, some for the first time. Students are graduating from high school and college and changing the trajectory of their families and communities. The love of the Lahash community is helping these children grow and flourish. Hope is alive!

Reverend Martha, who cares for children with albinism in Tanzania, shared that when the children arrive in her care,

"it's like they were grieving, but now they are shining!"

That's what love does. It makes a child shine!

This love wraps around the world and changes us all. We are so grateful that you are part of this global family, this love story of Lahash.

This is a love story involving people worldwide–sponsors, partners, donors, staff, volunteers, churches, you, and me. We are excited to step into our 20th year of ministry together!

Happy Birthday Lahash!

There is room in this love story for more people!

Lahash is growing, and we are expanding our family! Our vision is that every child knows Jesus and thrives as they are loved by a flourishing global church. We dream of adding more staff, volunteers, and child sponsors to our team to help us fulfill our vision! Know someone who would be a great fit as a staff member? Share our open positions with them! Sponsorship is a beautiful way to spread love and hope. Do you know someone who would make a wonderful sponsor? Share with them about children waiting for a sponsor HERE.
