INTRODUCING THE LAHASH BLAKEMAN TRAINING AND RETREAT CENTRE
We are launching into a new chapter at Lahash. This year we began construction on a Lahash training center south of Nairobi, Kenya.
“To share the Gospel, serve the community, train leaders, and refresh souls”

Clark and Cathy Blakeman were foundational members of the ministry’s early team. Clark was one of our first board members, and both he and Cathy joined staff in 2012. The couple brought a wealth of experience in Christian ministry, church work and community development. Together, they built the Servant Team program and launched the Stand With Students program to help young adults receive mentorships and scholarships as they prepare for adulthood.
The Lahash team was saddened to hear news of Clark’s cancer diagnosis, and then later in 2016, Clark went to be with Jesus.
We are honoring Clark’s legacy and vision by naming the new Lahash training center in his name. Clark was passionate about the gospel of Jesus, community development, and training leaders.
The vision for this new center (or centre as it is spelled in East Africa) is to strengthen our local partnerships and boost the work taking place in churches and ministries across the region.
On June 27, our community together laid a foundation stone in Kenya and prayed over the process and land. We hosted a big party to help celebrate this new step.
Over the next two years, we’ll be sharing more details, raising funds, and completing the construction of Phase 1 - the Gillespie Guest House. Our dream is to host our 2028 conference at the new facility. We invite you to step into this developing chapter and to build this new training center in Kenya with us!
